A Day of Champions

A Day of Champions

The energy was electric on May 8 as schools across Wayne Township gathered at Ben Davis High School Field and Stadium to celebrate our annual Unified Game Day, a celebration of athleticism, inclusion, and community organized by the Office of Special Services.

Students from every school in the district gathered for a morning filled with track competition, activity stations, and the joyful camaraderie that has made Unified Game Day one of the most anticipated events on the district calendar. The Office of Special Services, which coordinates the event, brought together students, staff, volunteers, and supporters to create an experience centered on what every student can do.

Dr. Shenia Suggs lit the ceremonial torch to signal the official start of the competition. From there, athletes took to the track, competing in events that showcased their determination. Activity stations kept the energy high throughout the morning, with staff and student volunteers stationed to cheer on competitors and ensure every athlete felt supported. As the event drew to a close, medals were awarded to celebrate the heart each athlete brought to the day.

Thank you to the Office of Special Services for once again bringing this event to life, and to the many staff and student volunteers who made the day run seamlessly from start to finish. Unified Game Day is a community effort in every sense of the word, and a testament to what we can accomplish when everyone shows up with heart.
