BDU Class Officers Virtual Engagement and Peak Into The Classrooms of Two Instructors!

BDU’s Class Officers sponsored by BDU special ed Lisa Stephens and our new science teacher Janna Ferguson have found a way to still connect with our North Wayne Elementary scholars through our Book Buddies virtual reading opportunity! Coordinated by Class Officers sponsor Lisa Stephens and BDU Alumni, former Class Officer, and 3rd grade North Wayne teacher Katilyn Osborn the Class Officers engaged in reading and a padlet with their 3rd grade partner class this past week through a virtual google meet.

Here’s an opportunity to peak into the classrooms of two of our BDU Instructors from this past week!

Crista Carlino our media specialist has the opportunity to teach an Introduction to Secondary Education course offered through University of Indianapolis to some of our seniors interested in majoring in education. Crista and her co-teacher paraprofessional and retired teacher Connie Bleicher walked the students through an article share on classroom engagement strategies and how the classroom environment contributes to student learning.

Janna Ferguson is our new science instructor at BDU. Janna joins us with experience working at Muncie Central High School and most recently she taught the dual credit Chemistry course CHEM 101 at Anderson High School. Janna had an exciting lesson on ionic bonding followed by a fabulous lab activity for students to build models of physical bonds with pandemic safe procedures in place.
