How to Apply

If you are interested in applying to Ben Davis University High School, please review the important information below.

The application for Ben Davis University High School opens up each year at the end of December and closes on President’s Day in mid-February.

The application must be completed online by BOTH the student and the parent through the student’s Wayne Township Google account. This application is for the following school year and the application process will include the following:

• Student & Parent application completed online
• Brief essay question (included in the online application)
• Student interview
• Teacher & Counselor recommendations

Applications can be completed by any current 9th grade students that attend Wayne Township. Non-Wayne applications that live within or outside of the district are also welcome to apply and use a different application. If you are a current student who does NOT attend a Wayne Township school and are interested in applying, please email rebecca.daugherty@wayne.k12.in.us for the application form.

Please note that if you reside out of the district, the out of district transfer form MUST be filled out EACH YEAR in addition to this application if you are interested in a college & career readiness program. The out of district application will open each year in early March and is due no later than May 1st. This application is available at https://www.wayne.k12.in.us/enroll/out-of-district-enrollment.

Applications cannot be submitted by students who are in grades 10-12 unless they are an early college transfer student. If this applies to you, please email valerie.miller@wayne.k12.in.us or contact her at 317-988-7800 with your interest in transferring to BDU.

The application for BDU is included in the College Readiness Programs Common Application which includes three programs: Ben Davis University High School, the Early College Career Center program located at Ben Davis High School and the Area 31 Career Center, and the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program located at Ben Davis High School.
